Moderating the Future

Journalist • Moderator • Podcast Host • Speaker

Who I Am

I’m an award-winning journalist, moderator and podcast host with more than 25 years of experience across international broadcasting, live events and technology journalism. A former BBC Editor, senior producer and correspondent, I now present and edit Somewhere on Earth: The Global Tech Podcast. Alongside this I am a Web Summit and SciTech presenter. I specialise in moderating engaging conversations on science, medicine, health, AI and emerging technology for global audiences. Through live events, podcasts and interviews, I help turn complex ideas into compelling, accessible discussions that inform, challenge and inspire.

Purpose and Philosophy

I believe the most important conversations of our time sit at the intersection of science, medicine, technology and society. My work is driven by a commitment to making complex ideas accessible, meaningful and genuinely engaging for audiences from all backgrounds.

As a moderator and journalist, I aim to create conversations that are thoughtful, informed and human, where experts can share insight clearly, audiences feel included, and difficult questions are explored with curiosity and respect. Whether discussing AI, global health, innovation or emerging technologies, I focus on connecting expertise with real-world impact.

I see moderation not simply as hosting a discussion, but as helping ideas travel: between disciplines, industries, cultures and people.
